Ahhh finally…the bride and groom.  Definitely my favorite part of the wedding day.  I love being able to capture the love between two people that have just committed themselves to spending forever together!  And, after the stress and excitement leading up to this day, there is nothing better than seeing the relaxed look of joy and love in my couples faces.

So, on this Valentine’s weekend, I give you my couples in love!  Thanks again go to Rich Lander of Chard Photographer for allowing me to second shoot for so many rad couples!

And one more…because it didn’t happen if it’s not on Facebook!

Next up…the ring shots!  Another favorite part of shooting the details.  Technically, ring shots are one of the harder details to capture.  Most of the time, we, as photographers, don’t get the opportunity to take these images before the ceremony.  It usually happens sometime during the reception, at night, in a room lit with flashing colored lights from the DJ…not so ideal.  In those cases you really have to make do with your surroundings, and get super creative!  Even in a good lighting situation, there is always the challenge to be more and more creative.  The end result can be some pretty fun and stunning images.

These were all shot using a macro lens.  Macro lenses allow you to get super close up and hone in on the details.  Being that close up doesn’t leave much room for error, so it helps to have a tripod and some good lighting…which, as I said, can be a challenge.  Most of the time I don’t use a tripod, so part of MY challenge is to hold really still, or find a sturdy surface to rest the camera on.  As for the light…well, I’m gonna let you try to figure out how it’s done.  I’m not givin’ out trade secrets!!

Enjoy!
