Do you ever take the time to get out and “smell the roses”?  If not, you really should.  Especially out here in sunny San Diego!  There are so many places within a short distance to get out and hike, explore, take photos, breathe deeply and relax.  I really love to go by myself with my camera, walk around and see what strikes me.  I get to breathe deeply, clear my head, and think about what’s important.  I can get lost for hours in the beauty of God’s creations!  And, yes, I am one of those people that takes 500 (ok, not really 500) images of the same thing because the light is constantly changing, and I’m afraid of missing out!

The images I’ve chosen to share are all from San Diego County, and all about 30-45 minutes from my house.

Enjoy!

P.S.  Please don’t forget to take lots of photos of your family.  Sadly, I’m not so good about that.  While the images at the Carlsbad Flower Fields are a few years old, sadly they are probably some of the most recent of my dad who passed away mid 2012.

A while back I had the opportunity to work along side Sarah Albert of Sarah Jayne Photography.  She had a weekend full of mini sessions set up, and asked if I wanted to tag along.  As my boys are older, I was out of practice photographing the little ones, so I happily agreed!   One family even brought their sweet doggie.  It was a beautiful day as we chased the wee ones around Balboa Park‘s Marsten House Gardens.  Whew!  What a work out!

Here are my favorites of the day!
